Inspired by Russian shawls, this pattern has a geometric center portion
worked in garter stitch with an edging added after the center is
finished. It can be knit as either the Square Shawl (55 inches on a
side), shown at the left, or the Rectangular Stole (28 by 66 inches).
For this shawl, we have spun a special lace weight
yarn using 25% kid mohair/75% wool that has a very soft handle.
Either the Square or the Rectangular Siberian
Winter Shawl requires 5 skeins of our lace weight
yarn.
