Flap Hat with a Twirl

Gauge: 9 sts = 2 inches in stockinette
This pattern makes a hat 20" around and calls for 160 yards of worsted weight yarn.   It's knit in the round from bottom up with the flaps added after the rest is done.  Size 6 needles are needed for the band and size 8 for the top.
