Mer-made Yarns

Mer-made (merino made washable) is a new machine washable yarn that we are adding to our line of yarns. The DK weight yarn knits like a sport weight yarn at 6-7 sts per inch on size 3 needles and the fingering weight knits at 8-9 sts per inch on size 1.  The yarn is packaged in 4 ounce skeins with about 260 yards/skein for the DK weight and 360 yards/skein for the fingering weight. One skein of DK weight will make a pair of socks to fit a woman's foot up to shoe size 8. The fingering weight will make a larger sock.
While we are unable to spin machine washable yarn on our machinery, it is hand dyed and painted at our mill.
