Patterns are graded according to skill: ** Intermediate *** Advanced

January: Rich Rib Bobby Sock ** Even expert knitters need an easy knitting job once in a while, and what better time to take it easy than after the holidays? This sock is quick to knit and a good place to start for the new sock enthusiast. Gauge 6.5 sts = 1".

February: Celtic Hearts ** Wear these socks with their lacy sweetheart cuffs in a kicky pair of flats or without shoes, sitting in front of the fire on a chilly February night. The lace cuff is made first and is worked back and forth. Then stitches are picked up along the straight edge of the lace cuff and the sock is worked down from there. Gauge 7 sts = 1" PDF can be purchased here

March: Galaway Bay ** The mosaic pattern around the cuff represents the Shamrock which is universally associated with the country of Ireland. The cabled fabric on the lower part of the sock evokes the windswept coastline of Galway Bay. The foot can be worked with or without the pattern. Gauge 7.5 sts = 1".

April: Sheep, What Else! *** It's official: The traditional theme for the April Sock of the Month is SHEEP! This curious duo (finger puppets) are busy peeking over the pasture wall when they should be tending to their knitting. The example was done in our sport weight cotton blend yarn. Gauge 6 sts = 1". PDF can be purchased here

May: Bib Overalls *** It's May! There is plenty to do in the garden with planting and weeding in preparation for the season ahead. These denim blue bib overall socks, with their jaunty back pocket and red hankie, are perfect for any gardening sock enthusiast. Worked in 20% Cotton/80% wool. Gauge 6.5 sts = 1".

June: Clematis ** June is when you begin to see the rich purple clematis blossums peek through their trellis of green leaves. This means sunny summer days and warm summer evenings are here to stay for a while. Gauge 6.5 sts = 1".

July: American Spirit ** Knit these socks with their patriotic colors and heartland motifs and your feet will be feeling Yankee Doodle Dandy in no time. Sorry, we're out of kits, but you can make your own pair with two ounces each of red and white, and another ounce of blue in sport weight yarn. Gauge 6.5 sts = 1".

August: Shopping Sock ** August means Stitches Midwest and MARKET!! Knit these socks with their side pockets sized especially for your credit card, shopping list, room key or cash, leaving your hands free for knitting or SHOPPING! Gauge 6.5 sts = 1".

September: Transitions ** During Autumn, the weather changes from sunny Saturday football afternoons to chilly evenings when the campfire calls. These socks will keep both your toes and your spirits warm. Gauge 6.5 sts = 1".

October: Ghosts and Goblins Sock ** There is no trick to knitting these socks. Start knitting with the first chill of October days and your Ghosts (white colorway) and Goblins (black colorway) can have warm toes (do Ghosts and Goblins even HAVE toes??) for a Halloween treat. Gauge 6.5 sts = 1".

November: Hospitality Sock ** Once rare and always delicious, the pineapple has long been a universal symbol of generous hospitality. What a better way to knit the spirit of November -- the month of Thanksgiving. Gauge 8 sts = 1".

December: Santa is Stuck in the Chimney Sock ** When you wear these socks, people will see Santa's black boots sticking out from the red brick chimney and a white mantle piece. Gauge 5.5 sts = 1". PDF can be purchased here
