This is a good small project for practicing knitting with beads for embellishment. The pattern has instructions for making a small bag (approx. 4" x 4") or purse with a long braided strap.

There are 4 different bead charts the front of the bag, which vary in needing from 100 to 225 beads. It calls for about 1.5 oz of sport weight yarn.
