Gauge: 5 sts = 1 inch in stockinette stitch before blocking
The square version of Weeping Willow begins with a few stitches in the center and is knit outward to the edging in a square comprising four triangular sections. One quarter (or one triangular edge) of the pattern is fully charted.
To complete each round of the shawl, repeat the charted row four times. A lace edging is then applied to the outside edge.
The triangular version of Weeping Willow begins with a few stitches at the top of the center back and, again, is knit outward to the edging.
One row of the Triangular Shawl is completed by knitting each charted row twice. A lace edging is then applied along the two short sides of the triangle.
The finished size of the square shawl is 56 inches square, and the triangle shawl is 56 inches along the two "short sides" of the triangle.
The Square Weeping Willow Shawl requires 5 skeins of our lace weight yarn, the Triangular Weeping Willow Shawl requires 3 skeins.
